What should you know about shaving?
There are almost as many beard care routines as there are beards, and one is not better than the other (necessarily). Since all beards are very individual, everyone has to try what works for their own beard.
We at Shave Club are often asked how to care for a beard. Even though we have spent almost five years of our lives on this job, we don't know how to help everyone 100%. However, the purpose of these tips is to give new ideas and approaches to beard care and to give an overview of our group's experiences and product recommendations for the job.
1. Wash your beard properly
Let's start with the easiest. This is an area that should not be skipped. The starting point for a healthy beard is clean but nourished hair. If you wash your beard too often (a good rule of thumb is every 3 days) or e.g. with drying hair shampoos, your beard starts to accumulate harmful fats naturally. It is also recommended to use a beard conditioner in addition to the beard shampoo. The best tip came from Jesse (on the marketing side at work...) that he skips about every other shampoo and only uses conditioner. It sounds reasonable and I'm going to test it myself!
Suggested weekly routine for shaving : 4 days a week just shower so you don't smell like shit. Wash with beard shampoo 2 days a week and apply conditioner. Once a week, only wash with conditioner. Note! The conditioner is always applied to the towel-dried beard, left on for a couple of minutes and rinsed off.

2. A short tutorial on beard care
All maintenance related to the beard can be thought of as beard care, but this is particularly aimed at keeping the beard hair strong and healthy and caring for the skin under the beard.
The most important product for beard care is definitely beard oil, both for short and long beards. The beard tends to dry out if the beard oil is left out even for a few days. Some lighter (= easily oiled) balms also do the same thing, but they don't moisturize the skin as well.
You should apply the beard oil with a pipette (in those oils where this type is found) directly on the skin under the beard. With a relatively dense beard, the oil doesn't always seem to reach the skin properly, even if you use it as an aid beard brush . That is, with a pipette, apply oil evenly around the chin and upper lip (so that it hits the skin properly), then brush the entire beard with a brisk hand. In this way, the oil spreads evenly, you can exfoliate the dry dead skin and it also feels like the blood is starting to circulate properly on the face.
Suggestion for a beard care routine : Beard oil about 2/3 of a pipette (of course depending entirely on the length and thickness of the beard), every day after showering. For a towel-dried or even better blow-dried beard. After this, brushing with a beard brush.

3. Shape the beard
The better the trimmed beard, the less time and money you need to spend on growing it. A freshly cut beard usually doesn't need a lot of styling products. It is definitely worth using for design razors , not an electric machine. Even though the electric straightener is faster, the beard looks incredibly untidy in just a week. The machine breaks the hair, from which, with the deep chest sound of experience, untidy bifurcations begin to develop. You should trim your beard at least once a month, preferably even every couple of weeks to keep it neat.
If you've let your beard grow a little untidy, shaving wax can luckily save even the worst beard day. Always apply the wax only after the beard oil. It's pretty straight forward: scrape off a pea-sized lump with your fingernail and warm it properly between your palms, then rub the wax into your beard starting from the bottom. The only gimmick for this is perhaps that it is better to do the operation twice than with too big a batch at once. We have noticed that too much shaving wax cannot be spread evenly if you try to rub it into your beard all at once.
After that, carefully comb through the waxed beard. Many like to use a little a wider-toothed comb for two reasons: the wide tooth gaps do not tear a denser beard and the end result is a little more relaxed looking.
Suggested routine : After oiling a slightly luxuriant beard, a small dab of shaving wax. Thoroughly comb through the beard, then straighten the mess with a comb.

Final candidate
So here was our group's collective routine and tips for beard care. Some areas may change depending on the length of the beard, for example a shorter beard (less than 2cm) is preferable our pulju's own softer beard brush and for a really short (less than 1cm) beard, you can replace the oil, e.g. with beard balm . Mustache wax should be used if you let your mustache grow longer. Then the recommendation is (yallari, yllari) our domestic ones mustache waxes .
