Packaging
Reuzel printed, metal jar with screw top. As an exception to Reuzel's previous pomades, these newer Fiber and Clay Matte come in a glossy jar. This is not bad at all. The metal is a little thinner, so the jar may show small traces of use if you throw it in the cupboard.
Composition
Almost like thick fat. It also comes out of the jar accordingly and spreads on the hands without any problems. At this point, you may be afraid that this will get any traction, but don't worry. No dyes have been used here, the item is white.
Scent
Some mint chocolate smells here. At least something cool and something sweet. Quite powerful like Reuzel.
Dissemination
How do you imagine thick fat spreading? Does not tear hair at all. This goes by tossing evenly into the hair and the comb doesn't hit at all.
The control is by far the best of any of the pomades we've tried, which means you can really easily set your hair the way you want it. There's no way you'll shape faster than this.
Result
Not completely matte, but not shiny either. A natural, truly textural result. The idea here is that the hair does not stick together, but stays separate. Easy to get volume and those fibers bring elasticity to the hair. It really works excellently on both neat and messy hair styles. The grip is somewhere between medium and strong.
At the end of the day
Nothing to complain about. Reshapeability is maintained throughout the day, the pomade does not dry out on the head and when there was no shine in the first place, it does not dissipate either. Excellent resistance to sweating, so if you have Fiberit on your head after a working day, you can go to the gym without any worries. Does not drip into the eyes.
Washing
Reuzel Fiber is a water-based pomade and leaves the hair with just water. You can rub a little more than the usual water-based ones, but e.g. you can use normal shampoo without any effort.
Manufacturing
The company behind Reuzel is Dutch and the famous Schorem barber is in Rotterdam, but all their products are made in the USA.
Shave Club Verdict
Fiber is not directly comparable to typical pomades, oil- or water-based. However, it deserves its place as standard equipment in the bathroom cabinet. The texture it brings is a much-needed icing on the cake for many hair styles.
The versatility, which is not limited to just classic hairstyles, is of course a big plus, and the ease of styling makes this a good option for those mornings when it's a little late. Strong recommendation from us!
